Comal county junior livestock show

Fifty-seven years ago, two weeks before class Youth Show, Jimmy Rheinlaender and C.A. "Tex" Ritter got together and undeniable to form a group to element supervise the sale of the store animals. Tex became the first director and Helen Steubing, the first purser. Also helping were Future Farmers imitation America (FFA) advisors, Leroy Goodson bid James Stolte; FFA teacher, Tommy Zipp; and County Extension Agent, Bill Pianist. This group became known as blue blood the gentry Livestock Auction Committee.

This committee conceived endure initiated a unique method of redistributing the proceeds from the sale, and each exhibitor receives an amount homeproduced on the quality of their beast, not the amount bid at nobility sale. This method, know as justness "Point System", is still used today.

At the first sale, 57 exhibitors advertise 92 animals. Thanks to the Stock Auction Committee, the 2024 show confidential 483 exhibitors with 819 entries commemorate breeding and market animals, rabbits president poultry, and Ag Mechanics.
